Mom Slams Nosey Neighbor Who Reported Her To Child Protective Services

After a long, chilly winter in Canada, Jacqui and Kyle Kendrick’s children understandably couldn’t wait to get outside and play in their backyard this spring, but the parents were devastated when a neighbor tried to get them in trouble for giving their kids that freedom.

In a post Jacqui wrote on Facebook, that has since gone viral, the Winnipeg mother of three said she was left in tears after a “concerned citizen” tried to teach her a lesson on parenting. As you can see in this story, every parent has the right to raise their children the way they want to, so you can imagine the heartbreak the Kendricks were served when they were accused of being bad at it.

The family was recently investigated and interviewed by Child and Family Services for a “well-being” check after some in their neighborhood complained about 10-year-old Jayden and 5-year-old Keira playing in their fenced-in backyard “unsupervised”, while the parents were inside.

The mom argued on Facebook that she was likely sitting in a part of the yard that couldn’t be seen from the outside or might have been attending to her 18-month-old, but since the anonymous person didn’t bother to check if an adult was home, now her family has to pay.

“I have had an intake worker come to my house, have an “interview” with me. Asking me how we discipline our children, if we drink or do drugs, if we have support if we have enough money! Then she had to check to see where my kids sleep, and to make sure we had enough food in the house! How embarrassing, and degrading for me. I am a good parent. My kids are well taken care of. The worker is also going to go talk to my kids at their school. So now the school will know that we are dealing with CFS. All because I let my kids play outside!”
