It’s always a good thing to be careful about what you post on the internet, but one mom learned the hard way that you can delete Facebook posts all you want, but they can still come back to haunt you.

As you can see in this heartbreaking story about a teen being harassed by unknown bullies online, many people like to hide behind their computer screens to hurt others. Then there are people like Kaitlyn Walls, who post whatever comes to their minds, regardless of the consequences.

You’ve probably heard why you should be careful of your Facebook profile when interviewing for a new job, but Walls, a single mother from Colony, Texas, didn’t realize that she still needed to be cautious after accepting a new job. The 27-year-old single mom was desperate for a new job when she accepted a position working with young children at a local daycare, but a baffling mistake soon cost her everything.

In a since-deleted Facebook status, Walls wrote “I start my new job today, but I absolutely hate working at day care. Lol, it’s all good, I just really hate being around a lot of kids.”

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise to us, but Walls said she was shocked when she was hit with an overwhelming number of comments bashing her as a parent. Someone even reported Walls to her new employer, who immediately fired her before her first day on the job.

“Oh man I made a big mistake. I’m so sad,” Walls later wrote to Facebook friends. “I feel like a failure here looking at my daughter crying because I’m afraid that I’m not going to be able to find a job because of my own stupidity.”
