As you can see in this story about a woman getting fired over a careless Facebook post, what we share on the internet never goes away, yet we like to have faith that most people won’t invade our privacy, even though we’ve made parts of our life public.

Twenty-five-year-old mother and blogger of personal site ShutUpMegBlog learned the hard way that even when you think you’re safe, the internet is a dark and scary place and many of its users are not much better.

Back in 2014, Meg Ireland shared private photos of her massive baby bump in a private Facebook group for mothers. Sadly, about 16 of Ireland’s personal photos were taken from the page and posted on a “preggophilia” porn pregnancy fetish website, where she was horrified by the awful things she found searching for the thread.

In a post on her Facebook page, Ireland explained that although we shouldn’t have to worry about people stealing others photos, it happens all the time.

“People who were uploading pictures of their wife to other users, brother in laws uploading pictures of their sister in laws and women uploading pictures of their work colleagues!!!” she wrote on Facebook. “I literally couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

Hearing about her invasion of privacy made the young mom sick to her stomach, but she decided to share her photo one last time, in hopes of warning other pregnant women to be more careful of what they post online.

“I see so many people upload their bump pics and now I just gasp and hope to god they don’t get into the hands of someone they shouldn’t,” she wrote.

Parents should be careful about who they allow to view photos of their children as well, as many have had to learn the hard way that there are creeps who steal kids’ photos for pornographic use or to even pretend they are their own children.

Please SHARE this mom’s horrific story with your loved ones on Facebook today. You never know who you might just be able to help!
