It’s a sad, strange world we live in today, where people seem to get offended by just about anything and everything.
However, there is never any excuse for a woman to be shamed or humiliated just for trying to feed their child. As you can see in this unfortunate story, even a woman’s parents aren’t always on her side when it comes to their hungry grandchild.
We’ve seen more about women attacked for breastfeeding in the news this year than we would like, but the following altercation might just be the most shocking yet.
Mom Savvy Shukla of Colombus, Georgia took to Facebook to share her unbelievable story of how she witnessed a police officer threaten to arrest another for mom public indecency if people complained about her breastfeeding while grocery shopping in her local Piggly Wiggly.
Now, every new parent knows that there is no right time for a little one to get hungry the new mom , known as Savannah, just didn’t want her infant to starve. Yet, the altercation quickly turned into a fight over Georgia state’s laws.
Shukla shared on Facebook that the officer told Savannah, “You just THINK you know what the law says and if your nipple becomes exposed I really don’t want to have to arrest you or you be arrested for being offensive. This isn’t like the first amendment where you can say something offensive.”
Luckily, the paralegal was also shopping nearby and quickly came to the mom’s defense. What came next was nothing short of amazing… and we hope that this officer learned his lesson after he was the one shamed.
