When a villager stumbled upon a baby jaguar, he knew something must be very wrong if her mother wasn’t with her and she wasn’t making any attempt to run away.

The man called veterinarians from San Francisco de Quito University’s wildlife animal rescue organization, and the team quickly made their way to rescue the injured jaguar. Immediately, they could tell the jaguar was paralyzed since she couldn’t move her legs at all, but they had no idea how it possible happened.

When the team looked at her x-rays, they realized  the poor baby had been shot 18 times and could see the bullets lodged in her body. “We don’t know exactly what happened because villagers don’t want to give information, but she was found next to a palm plantation without her mother,” said veterinary student Veronica Cabrera. “We suppose they were too close to the plantation and were shot.”

Two of the bullets had damaged the 11-month-old’s spinal chord, but the team refused to give up on the leopard, who they named D’yaira. They immediately got her into surgery to remove the bullets that weren’t too embedded in her bones, and while she still needs more surgery and months of therapy, she is already getting stronger and has moved one of her hind legs.

“Now she is able to change her position by herself, so it seems like the surgery was successful,” Cabrera said. “Now she can eat 15 to 20 chicken breasts per day without problem. She is getting stronger. We want her story to be known by everyone, so people can prevent or stop hunting animals.”

When wild animals get stuck in wire fences or entangled in rope, they often will do everything in their power to try to free themselves, even if it means injuring themselves in the process.

And when one wild fox got stuck in a loose piece of barbed wire, it knew it would starve if it couldn’t untangle itself. Luckily, however, a group of mountain bikers were nearby and heard the animal crying out in pain as it fought to free itself from the painful wire.

They followed the noise until they stumbled upon a panicked wild fox that was entangled in a barbed wire fence that bordered a bike path, but as the group approached, the cagey fox got aggressive and started snapping at them when they put their hands near the fence.

The bikers tried to show the scared animal they wouldn’t harm it, but when that didn’t work, they found a stick for the fox to bite while a brave biker quickly cut the animal free with a pair of wire cutters.

Anyone who has ever worked as a waiter or waitress, knows that while it looks easy, being a server is an incredibly demanding, tiring, and thankless job that pays next to nothing.

Because the job pays so little, most servers rely on the generosity of their customers to make enough money to get by, unfortunately, however, most servers earn just a few extra bucks from cheap customers who refuse to pay for good service. So when one waiter from a Texas restaurant went to collect the check from a table that had just finished their meal, he hoped to make at least a ten to twenty percent tip.

Yet when the waiter, who is originally from Ireland and is also expecting his first child, looked down at the check, he was speechless when he realized the table left him a $750 tip. “Hopefully this can get you back to Ireland for the holidays,” the generous customer wrote.

“My boyfriend got this tip last night at work,” the waiter’s expecting girlfriend, Taryn Keith, shared on Facebook. “He’s from Ireland and is trying to take us back there once Killian is born so we can meet his family. Thought I would share to show everyone there’s not only hate out there. Truly blessed.”

When most people discover an injured or hungry baby animal in the wild without its mother, their instinct is to bring it home and care for it, which is exactly what one villager from Borneo did when he found a baby orangutan all alone.

Bapak Hendrigus discovered a small, malnourished orangutan in the middle of a palm oil plantation this past June and decided to take her home since her mother was nowhere to be found, and the baby wouldn’t survive long on her own.

Hendrigus and his family fed the baby orangutan, who they named Bonika, rice, sugar cane, baby formula, water, and biscuits since they didn’t know what orangutans eat, and kept her locked up with a chain to a wooden plank in their kitchen to keep her from escaping.

Aside from being let loose each morning to play with Hendrigus’ daughter and bath time, Bonika spent six months chained to the wall. “To be chained up alone on a narrow plank of wood without the company and comfort of her mother,” Alan Knight OBE, Chief Executive of International Animal Rescue, said of Bonita’s miserable first six months. Eventually, the family realized it was illegal to keep Bonika as a pet, and recently turned her over to the IAR Orangutan Centre who rushed to the home when they heard what was happening to the poor animal.

“It is heartening that Pak Hendrigus knew it was wrong to keep her as a pet and at least now she has a chance of living the life that nature intended,” Knight said about the baby orangutan, who will be returned to the wild after going through a rehabilitation process. “We are all delighted to have been able to rescue Bonika but also deeply saddened by the likely fate of her mother. No mother orangutan parts willingly with her baby and Bonika’s mother was almost certainly killed.”

When parents send their precious kids off to school, they pray other children will be kind to them. However, if their child does have any issues with bullies, they hope that at the very least, the school will handle the situation properly and protect their child.

So when one Arizona mother of two, Sue N’Goran, found out cruel classmates were bullying her little boy over the color of his skin, she immediately brought it to the school’s attention. “He’s been bullied by these children…saying that he’s brown only because he’s so dirty that he can’t get cleaned,” N’Goran said.

“So he’ll scrub himself, he’ll sit in the bathroom and scrub his skin trying to get the brown off of him. And asking me, ‘Why did you make me brown, if you know I was going to get bullied?’,” N’Goran said in tears. At first, N’Goran was hopeful after speaking at a board meeting at the Tucson Unified School District and being told by administrators that they would not tolerate bullying and would handle the situation.

Recently, however, the third grader ended up in the hospital after the bullies hit him in the head and called him the ’N’ word as they attacked him. And when N’Goran reached out for answers, the principal claimed she had made everything up.

Campus security then called N’Goran to inform her that she and her son had been banned from the school and the entire district’s property for life. Now, the outraged mom is sharing her story to get answers and justice for her son, but the school is still refusing to explain their decision. “We cannot comment on any particular incident due to privacy laws. In general, I can say that campus safety is our highest priority. Any person who threatens students or staff or presents a concern with the rights of others is not allowed on campus via board policy,” the Tucson Unified School District said in a statement.

A Bullied 8-Year-Old Just Got Banned From School For Life is an article from: LifeDaily

Dogs will do just about anything for their beloved human best friends, and when one Australian canine companion saw his owner was inches from death, he didn’t hesitate to protect him.

The unnamed Australian man had been sitting in the shade on his patio in the backyard and drinking a beer while browsing his phone, which is normally a pretty safe activity. However, he had no idea that while looking at his phone, a deadly snake slithered right between his legs.

If the man had moved his legs, the eastern brown snake, which is the world’s second most poisonous snake, would have bitten him and left him fighting for his life in the hospital. Luckily for the man, however, his dog had spotted the danger and was ready to sacrifice his life to save his owner.

In the video captured by the home’s security camera, the dog starts chasing the deadly snake and barking at it to alert his owner of the danger. Thankfully, the man jumps away before being bitten and manages to pull his heroic dog to safety inside the house.

Heroic Dog Leaps In Front Of Owner To Protect Him From Deadly Snake is an article from: LifeDaily

Parents are supposed to keep their children safe from harm and rescue them when they’re in danger, but when one dad’s life was in danger, his 3-year-old toddler ended up being the one to save him.

38-year-old dad Mark had Type 1 diabetes, which means his body cannot make insulin and needs to take it four times every day. But Mark follows a set schedule to ensure his blood sugar levels are stable, which is why his wife Emma didn’t even think twice to leave him home alone with their son Lenny-George while she went down the road to her mom’s house.

“It was a Sunday night, I needed to nip to my mum’s, which is literally two minutes around the corner by car, and I left them watching CBeebies together. I’d been out for about 30 minutes, and when I got back they were lying on the sofa. Mark didn’t look well, so I said, ‘what’s going on here?’ Lenny just turned to me and said ‘I saved daddy’, and Mark said it was true, he had.”

While Emma was out, Mark’s blood sugar dipped down to a dangerous 1.1 level, when it should be between four and seven.

“Mark had collapsed and woken up on the kitchen floor after he had a hypo and Lenny was feeding him yogurt that he’d managed to get from the fridge. How he’d got them out of the fridge I have no idea, but his little blue wooden chair was next to it so it looked like he’d dragged it over to stand on it. It could’ve been a completely different scenario if he’d been in bed or Lenny hadn’t done what he did. He could’ve ended up in a diabetic coma.”

The couple had never explained Mark’s condition to their son, which is why their so stunned he knew to feed him something sweet and get him his glucose tablets. “He saved his life,” Emma said. “Lenny is a proper character, really funny. It’s incredible what he’s done, and how he knew to do it. We are so proud! But he does have a mischievous side, a typical little boy running around at 100mph and never listening to his mum which is why it’s so much more amazing what he’s done!”

Toddler Force-Fed His Dad Yogurt After He Went Into Diabetic Shock is an article from: LifeDaily

When one reckless bus driver was driving a school bus in Chattanooga on Monday afternoon, it had devastating consequences. 

Twenty-four-year-old bus driver, Johnthony Walker has been put in jail and charged with vehicular homicide after the deadly crash, and authorities say he was speeding recklessly and swerved during his Monday afternoon route. 

Three of the students on the bus who died were in the fourth grade, and the other two were in kindergarten and first grade, according to Kirk Kelly, the interim school’s superintendent in Hamilton County. “Yesterday was the worst day that we have had for Woodmore and for Hamilton County Schools that I can recall in my life as an educator and as a parent and as a member of this community,” Dr. Kelly said. 

Police say Walker “lost control of the bus” and swerved off the narrow roadway, and landed on its side, hit a mailbox, a driveway, a tree and a telephone pole. As if the incident isn’t devastating enough, it’s the news of what Walker said to the children immediately before the crash that’s putting chills up everyone’s spine. 

Jasmine Mateen, a mother who had three children on the bus- one of whom was killed in the accident, told CBS Radio: “My daughter said, right before the bus flipped, that he was speeding around the curb, and asked them, ‘are y’all ready to die?’ He needs to suffer the way those kids suffered. I want justice for my kids, for everybody else’s kids that were on that bus. Just last week, he told the kids to ‘shut the f—- up,’ he had a hangover.”

Following all of the accusations, Walker’s mother, Gwenevere Cook has decided to speak out and told CNN that her son called her from the scene. “He said, ‘Mama, I love you. I have been in a drastic accident.’ He texted me minutes later saying the kids are dead. He was trying to get (the children) off the bus — all the bodies were limp. There was blood everywhere.”

Cook also asks the public for compassion on behalf of her son, saying, “He is a marvelous son. For two years he worked two jobs. He’s never been in trouble before. He is a respected young man, grew up in Chattanooga and is liked by everyone. My heart of love is going out for all that was in harm’s way of God’s will. Sending out mine and our condolences to every family that God touched yesterday in this horrible accident. And I am asking for compassion also for my son.”

According to the arrest affidavit: “Based on witness statements and physical evidence, the defendant was driving the school bus at a high rate of speed, well above the posted speed limit of 30 mph.”

Chattanooga Bus Driver Said Chilling Words To Kids Before Crash is an article from: LifeDaily

For the first 13 months after Jadon and Anias McDonald were born, they did absolutely everything together. However, these twins never even knew what the other looked like because they were born conjoined at the head.

In October, Jadon and Anias underwent a dangerous 27-hour surgery that cost $2.5 million at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Centre in New York to separate their heads and hopefully give them a chance at having normal lives.

Miraculously, the two boys both survived the surgery, which could have killed them or left them with developmental complications. Jadon and Anias have both experienced infections, fevers, and seizures, but they are breaking records with their quick recovery.

Before Anias and Jadon, the record for recovery time was eight weeks, but the twins are set to be moved to a rehab center at just six weeks after surgery. “Historically, this will be the fastest (recovery),” their surgeon Dr. James Goodrich said.

Just weeks after the surgery, mom Nicole even got to hold Jadon for the very first time. “For over 13 months, I’ve dreamed of this moment,” she said. “I looked down at Jadon’s angelic face and saw him in a way I’d never seen him before… instead of wrapping my body around him in his bed, I wrapped my arms around him and rocked. One of the most profound moments of my life.”

Twins That Shared A Brain See Each Other For The First Time is an article from: LifeDaily

Deliverymen are pretty much always in a rush to get wherever their package needs to go. However, when one Brazilian motorcycle courier saw a group of people in a panic on the side of the street, he decided to pull over and see if there was anything he could do.

The delivery man and father-of-two, Eliseu Oliveria, found out that a kitten had somehow wandered off onto a window ledge three stories up and was now trapped. The group had found a ladder, but unfortunately, it was too short and the only way to reach the cat was to climb up onto the very last rung and climb up the side of the building to reach the kitten.

“When I saw what was happening I thought of assisting in some way,” Eliseu said. “The actions of everyone who was there for the cat motivated me.” Without hesitating, Eliseu quickly climbed up the ladder and gripped to the side of the building until he could reach over and pick the cat up by the nape of its neck.

Eliseu struggled on the way back down, but eventually made his way back down with the cat safely perched on his shoulder. “I was a little embarrassed, but very happy to have helped the cat,” Eliseu said. “I thought I would just continue on my normal day.” However, when a neighbor posted the video of the tense rescue on Facebook, it quickly went viral and the 4.2 million people who have watched the footage are calling him a hero.

“I want to congratulate this blessed angel who stopped in the middle of his work to save our beloved Marcellin, and to say that there are still people doing good in this world,” the cat’s owner, Flavia Azevedo Prates wrote in a post. “This guy saw a commotion, stopped his motorcycle, and risked his life to save a kitten. He did not even know whose he was. And afterward, he leaves like nothing happened. He could only have been an angel sent by God.”

Delivery Man Saves A Cat Trapped On A Third Story Window Ledge is an article from: LifeDaily

The best gift that any family could hope for is a new child, and when one couple was unable to carry a baby of their own, Grandma decided to step in to keep her legacy going.

On October 22, 2016, Meghan Barker gave birth to her own grandson, a healthy baby boy named Gus. Barker’s daughter, Maddie Coleman, was told that she couldn’t deliver a baby on her own, because her ovaries were at a risk for tumors, and worried when she heard a surrogate mother would cost the couple as much as $75,000. That’s when the couple turned to Maggie’s mother for a miracle.

For nine months, 48-year-old Barker carried her own grandson, who was the fourth child she would deliver (already having three of her own). Barker tells KRCR, “The attachment for me was not an issue as people have predicted because in my mind it was biologically their baby. I was just a deluxe easy bake oven.” 

“It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life,” she continued. 

After delivering her grandson, Barker returned to normal grandmother duties, like bathing Gus and she even provides breast milk for him. 

But, still, this grandmother makes no mistake that Gus belongs to her daughter and son-in-law, and she says, “When I see Maddie and Tyler holding him and feeding him and being the mommy and the daddy, it’s the best thing.”

Maddie and her husband are forever grateful for their mother for carrying their child. “This was the biggest gift anybody can receive is becoming a mom and have my mom give me that gift, it’s unexplainable.”

Surrogate Mother Gives Birth To Her Own Grandson is an article from: LifeDaily

A little girl in San Francisco saw that a family was in need this holiday season and decided to open her heart and help. 

A video posted on BecuzIcare11’s Facebook page shows a 10-year-old girl named Leah walking over to a mother and daughter on the street and giving them not just a bag of warm food but also money to spend. 

The mother was so touched by the girl’s kind gesture, she burst into tears, and asked Leah if she could give her a hug. She said to Leah, “It’s people like you that are going to save this world.” 

BecuzIcare11 told Fox 5 News that the exchange was recorded to send to the individual who donated the money to Leah so that can continue on her mission to help the homeless and those less fortunate than herself.

After the Daily Mail posted the video below to their Facebook page, it was viewed over 53 million times! Besides helping this family, Leah strives to help as many families in need that she can, and utilizing her own Facebook page, where she posts videos of her spreading the kindness to people everywhere, and also encouraging those she helps to pay it forward when they are able to.

At the end of the video, Leah even handed the mother a special bracelet.

Girl’s Random Act Of Kindness Helps Desperate Family In Need is an article from: LifeDaily

That’s exactly why one Florida mom, whose son is a U.S. Marine at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, was heartbroken when her son Justin Hanes told her that many of his fellow Marines from his station wouldn’t be able to make it home for the holiday and see their families.

Heidi Barfield couldn’t stop thinking about the men and women who continue to make sacrifices for our country and decided to invite about two dozen Marines who were planning on spending Thanksgiving on their own since she felt giving them a home-cooked meal was the least she could do.

“These young men and women have written a blank check to the United States of America for up to and including their life,” Barfield said about the Marines who arrived at her home on a school bus. “And if it came to that, could we peel and extra potato or a 40-pound turkey? You bet.”

Mom Invites Son’s Marine Buddies To Join Her Family For Thanksgiving Dinner is an article from: LifeDaily

Alyssa Sanderford is being rightfully called a hero after rescuing a stranger’s dog in a high speed chase.

The 34-year-old woman from Dallas, TX started running after a dog she recognized from an ad describing him as missing on Facebook the day before. The Lab/Chesapeake mixed mutt named Wiley had disappeared from being tied up outside a Trader Joe’s store on Lower Greenville Avenue, a place where pets are usually safe. As reported by People, Wiley’s distraught owners Angela and Sterling Ream, both 32, searched tirelessly for their beloved canine companion, walking door-to-door, posting fliers and spreading the word on Facebook and all the other social media platforms they could think of.

The brave civilian superhero, who stands at just 5-foot-3-inches tall, said she chased down the thief and dognapper by foot and by car.

Luckily, it had been Wiley’s bright orange collar in a photo she shared on Facebook that helped Sanderford spot the missing pup.

“I have a Jeep, and I have two dogs myself,” she told the Dallas Observer. “I’ll run into Whole Foods just for a second and run out. The thought has crossed my mind that they might be taken but never really, so seeing that on Facebook made me feel really sad.” After Sanderford re-shared the post on Facebook, she was driving when she saw a dog looking much like Wiley with a man at a bus stop.

“I probably didn’t do the smartest thing. I just walked up to him and said, ‘That dog’s stolen. You need to give it back.’ He was like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ I said, ‘You took that dog last night at Trader Joe’s. Give me the leash.’”

“I tried to reach for it. He got pretty angry. I grabbed the leash, and he jerked it out of my hands.”

“I don’t even know this girl, and she risked so much to bring our dog home to us,” Ream said after getting her dog back. “It’s an unbelievable story. It sounds a little silly, but it restores your faith in humanity. For the one bad guy who had her, there were so many people who reached out and cared.”

Houston, Texas dog rescuer Tina Stone is someone who sadly sees this first hand all the time. “There’s no need to just throw them away like trash,” she says of a tiny dog left for dead in a plastic bag and dumped in a desolate area of the city.

Local resident Keylie Sandoval and her mom saw the bag moving and discovered the dog and called Stone. “We went home and got him some food and we came back and we fed him,” Sandoval said.“Very thin, very sad looking,” Stone added, saying  she found another dumped dog there the week prior.

Dog Left To Die As Trash In A Plastic Bag Gets A Second Chance is an article from: LifeDaily

In the midst of destruction, loss, and despair, it can be hard to see the light, but one Tennessee man found a physical reminder to keep his faith while cleaning up debris after a deadly wildfire hit.

This past Monday afternoon, a deadly wildfire from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park spread into nearby communities thanks to severe 80 mph winds that pushed the fire, which was fed quickly by drought-stricken trees. So far, the inferno, which was the state’s biggest forest fire in 100 years, has killed three people, burned hundreds of homes and buildings to the ground, and forced 14,000 people to evacuate the area. And the fire is still burning…

Despite the fire, employees from a local theme park, Dollywood, showed up to the park to help clean the property. One of those employees, Isaac McCord, had been cleaning up near a bench and noticed a lone piece of paper on the ground. He picked it up to get a better look at the burned remains and realized it was a single remaining page from the Bible.

“I just found this while helping our House and Grounds team clean different areas of Dollywood Theme Park,” McCord wrote in a Facebook post, which has been shared over 66,000 times. “It was under a bench soaking wet. Talk about goosebumps….”

The page was badly burned, yet a few verses were still visible. One of the verses left was Joel 1:19. “To you, LORD, I call, for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness and flames have burned up all the trees of the field,” McCord said he will never be able to forget the moment he read those lines in the middle of all the devastation and plans on framing the page.

When a family loses their dog, it can feel like a member of the family has died, which is why most are completely overjoyed when they find out the good news that their beloved pup has been found.

A California family’s German Shepherd had recently hopped the backyard fence and escaped to a neighbor’s yard, and was then picked up by an animal control officer who brought her back to the shelter to await being picked up. And when the family received a call that their dog was safely waiting for them, they immediately went down to the shelter.

Once they arrived at the shelter, the dog was thrilled to see her family, and couldn’t help but go up to the fence and lovingly kiss their hands. “Doing Dog Intros we got [interrupted] by a distracted and overly excited Zuzu,” said Desi Lara. “With her fast wagging tail seeing her owners Zuzu lite up like a Christmas Tree. She looked like the happiest dog.”

“Yeah, she’s going home. But No,” Lara explained. “Talking to her owners they told me they were not here to reclaim her, they were getting another dog. Their reason was because she was crying and sad since her father passed away. She wasn’t a happy dog anymore. Their solutions for her unhappiness was just leaving her here! And go get another dog.”

The devastated dog, who the shelter renamed Zuzu, was crushed as her family walked away and watched as they brought a new dog home instead. But now the shelter has made it their mission to find a loving family who will never abandon her. “She was re-named Zuzu! After the daughter in the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life. Why, because we are going to post, tag and share her and give her a New life. A wonderful life!”

Veterinarians and shelter workers devote their lives to helping animals, but unfortunately, when the shelter doesn’t have enough space, they are the ones that have to end innocent lives of those who never found a forever home.

At the Ozark City Animal Shelter in Alabama, any animal that has not been adopted for more than a week are unfortunately put to sleep. So when no one adopted a mixed-breed dog who was recovering from a car accident, the shelter had no choice but to euthanize him.

“That evening, a vet came to put to sleep the dogs on the list to die,” Two By Two Rescue explained. “After euthanizing the dogs, he verifies that the heartbeat has ceased. As he checked this particular dog, he heard a faint heartbeat and euthanized him again. He rechecked his heartbeat and signed off on the records that the four-year-old black shepherd mix was dead.”

The staff expected to find the dog’s lifeless body in the cage, however, they were stunned when they walked in and saw a very different scene. “When the staff arrived in the morning, to their shock the dog was looking at them. He had even eaten his leftover food from the day before. Though scared and wobbly, he was sitting in his cage alive!”

The vet still has no explanation for how the 4-year-old dog, who was later named Lazarus, managed to survive. “His body overcame and he had a will to live and somehow, someway he made it through,” shelter volunteer Cortney Blankenship said about the dog, who was then moved to a foster home where he made a full recovery from his multiple near-death experiences.

Toddlers are extremely talented at making everyday objects and home appliances dangerous, which is why most new parents go to extreme measures to baby proof their home.

Many parents, however, forget how threatening something like a washing machine can be to kids, who look at a washer and see a perfect hiding spot. And one Chinese couple learned the hard way how dangerous the appliance could be when their two-year-old daughter got trapped inside.

The toddler had been playing in her home in Northwest China this past weekend and when her parents weren’t looking, she climbed on top of the washing machine and decided to crawl inside the drum of the twin tub machine.

But as she slid inside, one of her legs started to bend behind the other and made it impossible to get out. After her parents realized what happened and failed to pull her out on their own, they called the fire department, who arrived soon after and got to work.

For about 20 minutes, the firefighters tried everything to pull the girl free, but when that failed, they separated the drum from the machine and finally managed to slide her out.

Firefighters Rescue A 2-Year-Old Trapped In A Washing Machine is an article from: LifeDaily

After birth, tiger cubs are completely dependent on their mothers for about six months. Then they typically spend about two to two and a half years with their mother learning to hunt and perfecting their survival skills.

So when a mother rejected her two newborn white Bengal tigers immediately after birth at the Safaripark Zoo Stukenbrock in Germany, the zoo staff knew they were going to need constant care to make sure they survived.

The staff worked around the clock to bottle feed the cubs named Peach and Pearl and massage them but knew they would need a ‘parent’ to bond with them and nurture them. Luckily, a male dog named Leon stepped up to care for them like his own.

The new ‘family’ is currently staying at zookeeper Jeannette Wurms’s living room until the cubs gain strength, but Leon, who often helps to look after babies in need at the zoo, has been providing the crucial care and cuddles that human caregivers just can’t provide.

“The hope [is] that these two white tiger babies will become two queens of the jungle,” the zoo wrote in a post on their website. “Now the little tigers are lovingly hand-fed, cuddled and massaged.”
