Just when you feel safe going back in the water, a monster of a viral video resurfaces to make us feel otherwise!

Here in the United States, we see tons of celebrities, musical performances and feel good stories on NBC’s Today Show. Over in Australia, however, it’s another story.

Australian Today Show host Karl Stefanovic first made headlines worldwide back in 2015, after he revealed he had been wearing the same suit for more or less than a year.

This time around, the award-winning TV host is making headlines for a much hilarious – and somewhat more terrifying – reason. In the clip below, we see Stefanovic and his co-host Lisa Wilkinson in utter disbelief after watching a clip of a gigantic 20-foot great white shark leaping from the depths of the ocean.

We had a pretty tough time believing the giant was real, too, but there’s no denying that monsters like that do pop up from time to time to remind us who’s boss of the deep blue sea.

I don’t know about you, but it’s going to be a while before I’ll be taking a dip!

Watch this incredible clip and don’t forget to SHARE this video with all of your friends on Facebook!

They say everything happens for a reason, and while there’s no justification for the tragic attack that this woman experienced, it was also the thing that eventually led her to true love.

Four years ago, Melissa Dohme experienced the worst day of her life when her ex-boyfriend tried to murder her, stabbing her 32 times. Yet thanks to a group of amazing first responders and a miracle, Melissa didn’t die.

“I remember there were tons of police officers, ambulance, and fire rescue. Everyone was there all at once,” Melissa told Fox 13 .

Ten months after the horrific attack, Melissa was focused on her recovery and was sharing her story, when Cameron Hill, one of the firefighters that saved her life, found himself in the audience during one of her speeches. “I was just in awe of how far she’d come,” Cameron said.

Cameron invited Melissa back to dinner with the rest of the firemen, and the two hit it off and later began dating. “He’s been by my side through it all, helping me, loving me,” Melissa said. A few months later, Cameron proposed to Melissa while on a date at a Tampa Bay Rays game where she was scheduled to throw out the opening pitch.

“I had to go through all this stuff that led me to find him. I wouldn’t want to go through what I went through again, but I also wouldn’t change it because it led me to Cameron,” Melissa said.

Melissa continues to inspire survivors and those still fighting from abuse. Most recently, she posed with this brave dog who also lived through the unthinkable to help send a message to the world that nothing can bring them down.

For so many high schoolers, Senior Prom is more than just a rite of passage into adulthood. It’s the biggest event of their lives so far and one night they want to make sure they will never forget.

Yet the weeks and months leading up to the big night can often be difficult for many students. From the struggle to find and afford the perfect outfit to finding a date, what should be a very exciting time in a teen’s life can turn into a frustrating, stressful, and even heartbreaking time.

Then there are students like 16-year-old Ben Davis who don’t ever expect to go to prom at all. According to Detroit Free Press, Davis has a rare condition called Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration, which is a genetic mutation that damages nerve cells in the brain and causes iron build-up and the need for a wheelchair.

Incredible Moment 3,000 Rescued Hens See Snow For The First Time

For hens who have never seen snow before, their first experience seeing it and walking in it had to be pretty cool.

Remember how excited you were as a kid when you saw snow for the first time and got to play in it and have a snowball fight?

These 3,000 lucky hens feel the same way. The birds were rescued in 2013 by Animal Place in California, and they were due to be gassed at an egg farm.

Probably thinking they would live their life like every other hen, when they were saved, they were very appreciative. On a snowy morning, the hens were taken outside to get their first glimpse of snow, and Animal Place captured this very special moment on camera.

As the hens poured outside, they reached the snow and stopped short, causing a bit of a hen traffic jam.

Not knowing what to do, they began dipping their feet in the white blanket of snow, and it was absolutely heart-warming to watch.

Watch these hens enjoy their first taste of freedom and please SHARE this video with your friends on Facebook!

When you think of adorable farm animals covered in wooly fur, sheep are the first – and naturally the only – thing that comes to mind, but it seems they’re not the only barnyard animals covered in the wiry wool jacket.

The lesser-known breed of pigs is known as Mangalica pigs or ‘sheep pigs’, and have been making headlines lately for their unusual coat of thick, fuzzy wool and their uncanny resemblance to sheep.

Mangalica pigs, which originally come from Hungary, were originally developed in the 1800s but have only just become popular again since they are easily domesticated.

The Hungarian breed of pig is actually quite easy to care for and incredibly low-maintenance. “If you treat them nicely, they’ll become as tame as dogs — they’ll follow you, play with you,” breeder Wilhelm Kohl told Modern Farmer.

Handing out Valentines or treats is the highlight of any child’s Valentine’s Day celebration and for this 8-year-old blind girl it was an extra special one.

Reddit user mack3r shared a photo of his daughter’s heart-shaped Valentine’s Day cards, which she gave to her fellow second grade classmates.

“My daughter is blind and her grade 2 class is exchanging Valentines tomorrow,” he said. “She brailled ‘love’ on each one and then used a heart-shaped hole punch. The letters in print are so her classmates know what it says.”

He explained that the cards were created with the Perkins Brailler tool, and they say ‘love’ both in braille and in print so her classmates could read them.

The braille cards quickly became a viral hit with users commenting with overwhelmingly positive feedback. One user said, “You’re a pretty awesome parent.” AAnother commented, “As someone who is blind, you’re doing it right. I wish I had a daddy like you.”

This special little girl even typed personal notes to each classmate in braille. And her parents did the writing and stamping in print underneath.

Abandoned Baby Elephant Refuses To Leave Her New Mom’s Side

Elephant calves are usually dependent on their mothers for about three to four years, so when a newborn baby elephant named Moyo was abandoned by her family after almost drowning while trying to cross a flooded river at just a few days old, she didn’t have a great chance of surviving.

Luckily, a group of rangers found the baby and took her to the Wild Is Life sanctuary in Zimbabwe, which cares for orphaned wild animals and is run by Roxy Danckwerts. Currently, the sanctuary is home to 15 different species from squirrels to elephants.

Baby Moyo was abandoned by her herd and was left to die. However, just when a pack of vicious hyenas were about to attack the weak and defenseless animal, rangers stepped in and rescued her.

While Moyo is cared for by a group of different caretakers, she has formed a special bond with owner Roxy during her recovery. “She knows my voice, my smell and somehow knows where I am at all times,” Roxy said. “How, I have no idea!”

The now 14-month-old follows her foster mom everywhere she goes. Even when Roxy is relaxing on the couch “Moyo is just as important to me, as I am to her. She is one of those animals with whom I have formed an extraordinary bond of friendship, trust and love.”

Eventually, the goal is for Moyo to be released back into the wild once she’s old enough, and while it’s Roxy’s goal to have her be free, she is also riddled with anxiety over her special companion.

“All parents want the best for their children. I want the best for the elephant children, and that best is freedom to roam and to make their own choices. So, yes, I will probably have a nervous emotional collapse (one of many) but that does not deter me from pursuing this goal,” Roxy explained.

Watch the entire video below to see the incredible bond this troublemaking baby elephant has formed with his new mom.

Although many rescue dogs are timid, scared, and sometimes even aggressive because of being abused and living a tough life in the past, they all tend to have one thing in common: appreciation for their second chance.

Much like this stray dog who alerted his foster family of a deadly carbon monoxide gas leak emergency during the middle of the night, a dog named Carl is being called a hero today after going above and beyond to establish his new role as protector of his human.

The following story proves why everyone should consider adopting a shelter dog.

On January 21, 2016 that proved to be the best decision he ever made, as Carl woke up the 41-year-old in the middle of the night. “He never barks and he only licks my face in the mornings,” said Drew Smith told Fox 5.

“I poured myself a glass of water and then finally turned on the light and the whole house was covered in smoke.”

A terrible fire had broken out in Smith’s apartment and he likely wouldn’t have realized it until too late if it wasn’t for Carl.

“It’s scary to think if he hadn’t woken me up, what really could have happened if he didn’t wake me up. He’s obviously made the rest of my life better already,” Smith told Fox 5.

11-Year-Old Simply Wanted Relatable Characters, But Instead She Spurred A Movement

New Jersey fifth-grader Marley Dias is an intelligent young woman with a bright future ahead of her.

At just 11-years-old, she’s already spurring change across the country. Marley has stated the obvious about why some kids (like herself) don’t enjoy reading: she can’t relate to the characters.

Think about the classics we read growing up. There’s Maniac Magee,” “The Phantom Tollbooth,” “Old Yeller, among others which are all great books.

“I was sick of reading about white boys and dogs,” she told the Philly Voice, in a statement that made us scratch our head and say “duh.” As a young African-American girl, Marley wanted to read about characters like herself to whom she could relate.

Rather than sitting back, Marley decided to do something about it.

The ambitious child and her Mom launched a book drive asking people to send in children’s stories that revolve around young, black, female characters. Then, the internet got involved, the hashtag #1000BlackGirlBooks began trending on Twitter, and a movement was born.

[Credit: Fox]
[Credit: Fox]
So far, Marley has racked up 700 books and they just keep growing. Marley says she’ll be donating all proceeds to St. Cloud Elementary School in West Orange, New Jersey. Beyond that, the girl has also sparked an important conversation about identity and image we present to the youth.

This young girl is certainly going places. First stop, student body President, then actual President. She’s so influential, she even appeared on Ellen:

We love hearing inspiring stories such as these. I’m proud of this little girl and her family and if you are too, please keep the movement growing and SHARE this story with friends and family.

This Adorable Kangaroo Is A Therapy Animal Providing Relief To Veterans In A Nursing Home

When we hear about therapy animals, we’re used to hear about dogs or the occasional cat, but this one is a little outlandish.

Charlie is a therapy animal from Down Under and he’s also a kangaroo. The therapy pet works with veterans at the William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake City Veterans Home in Utah.

“As a tiny kangaroo, they can hold him and love him, and feed him a bottle, and, as he gets bigger, he just hops all over the facilities,” said Noralyn Kahn, an administrator at the home.

She also said this makes young children want to visit their grandparents and spend time in the nursing home more frequently. Grandma and Grandpa are happier with the animal and also less scary to young children who may not understand illness.

The children also like petting the kangaroo:

Due to Charlie’s good deeds, the American Red Cross plans to honor him in an upcoming event. For his services to veterans, Charlie will be honored in a Heroes Recognition Event on March 31 at the Little America Hotel. That’s a pretty big prize for a little animal.

Unfortunately, that little animal is rapidly growing to be a big one, so Charlie will be leaving the nursing home soon, as he will be too large to stay indoors.

Enjoyed this charming story? Please tell us your thoughts in the comment section or SHARE this tale with a veteran, kangaroo-lover, or simply a friend in your life.

Stranger Returns Man’s Lost Wallet…65 Years After It Was Dropped

Have you ever unexpectedly found a lost earring or missing watch that you thought was gone forever!

The feeling of finding something you thought was gone forever is a great one. So, the one Edward Parker received upon having his wallet returned 65 years after it went missing must have been a great one.

Parker dropped his wallet in 1950:

[Credit: BBC]
[Credit: BBC]
He was working as an electrician and repairing damage from World War II at Lambeth Palace in London, when the wallet slipped down behind an unmovable medieval bookcase. Then, the wallet sat there for more than half a century.

However, this year, almost seven decades after the item was lost, a repairman was doing work on the bookcase and found the lost wallet. It was a relic of the past and a perfectly preserved time capsule.

For example, the wallet contained a typical business card of years gone by.

You’ll notice that it has the man’s name and address, but no phone number, since this wasn’t the custom back then:

[Credit: BBC]
[Credit: BBC]

It also held Parker’s original union card, almost in perfect condition:

Other objects included were old stamps and receipts:

Possibly, the most precious items recovered were old photographs of long-gone family members:

Lastly, the wallet held Parker’s medical card, which allowed the workman to find the long-retired repairman who lost his wallet all those years ago:

Imagine the surprise Edward Parker must have received upon having his wallet returned 65 years after he lost it. Parker is now 89-years-old and lives in Essex. He suffers from dementia, but he still remembers losing the wallet and was overcome with joy when his lost time capsule was returned to him.

This story goes to show that just because something is lost, it doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. If you agree, please SHARE with friends and family.
